The Cash raised went directly to 4 orphanages in Sri Lanka and was used to provide
educational equipment and essentials to get the children's education up and running again. The amount we raised was enough to supply their educational equipment for one year.
To deliver the money to where it is needed we joined forces with Martin & Debbie Wood from
Limassol who went to Sri Lanka with cash raised by the Cyprus Services rambling club and
Other organisations. In all Martin & Debbie took over £2000 with them for the orphanages.
In the left picture above Martin is addressing the landancers and explaining where and how our money will be used. The other two pictures show the presentation of the £900 to Martin & Debbie. Incidentally, Martin & Debbie also added £100 of their own money to ours to make our grand total £1000.
